Employment Law | Compromise Agreements
A compromise agreement is a legally binding agreement which formalises a full and final settlement between an employer and employee on termination of employment. It usually provides for a severance payment by an employer in return for which an employee warrants not to pursue any claim they may have.
Compromise agreements are often very legalistic in the way they are written and contain references to pieces of law that you may have never heard of. It is a legal requirement that you seek independent legal advice on the agreement and we will discuss with you in a non-legal and clear manner the terms of the agreement to ensure that you understand the effect of the agreement and the obligations which it places on both you and your employer.
