Charity Trustee Training
Charity trustees are the people who carry the ultimate responsibility for the work of their organisation. They can also be known as directors, board members, governors or committee members.
Trustees have a wide range of duties and responsibilities with an overriding obligation to advance the purpose of their charity. They need to ensure the charity is run in accordance with its constitution, charity law and all other applicable legislation and regulations which affect the charity's activities.
The role of a trustee is challenging enough without the need to deal with issues which arise which need legal advice. At Watson Esam, we assist charities and their trustees to be pro-active in their management of the charity to help avoid such issues. Many of our solicitors have first hand experience in being trustees of voluntary organisations
In particular we can:-
- Consult on legal requirements and best practice
- Advise on personal liabilities of trustees
- Provide bespoke trustee training sessions
- updates on current issues through our free newsletter
