Watson Esam | News | Will Aid Campaign 2009
Lauren Smith, wills and probate solicitor at Sheffield city centre law firm Watson Esam has surpassed her efforts in 2008 by raising almost £6000 for the charities supported by Will Aid in 2009. The campaign, which takes place in November each year, allows solicitors to waive their fees and ask their clients to donate a similar amount to Will Aid charities which include ActionAid, Christian Aid, NSPCC and British Red Cross. Will Aid is confident that it will raise around £1 million from 2009's campaign, and Lauren has certainly done her bit to contribute towards that. Despite the bite of the economic crisis Lauren prepared a tremendous 90 wills in November 2009, an unbelievable accomplishment when compared with results from equally dedicated teams across the country.
Watson Esam is absolutely delighted with Lauren's achievement. Senior partner Jay Bhayani says "Will Aid is an excellent scheme which helps fund vital work for charities here in the UK and around the world. Solicitors across the country have rallied to help support it, but of course we are particularly proud of the huge effort made by Lauren and the fantastic amount she has raised. We are also pleased that the campaign has encouraged so many local people to write their will and so save families and loved ones from the uncertainties of intestacy. We look forward to participating again next year."
